‘Even deaf gamers can (and want to) play video games too’ – with Chris aka DeafGamersTV

January 8, 2020 By Ahmed Khalifa

Post image with title overlay: 'Even Deaf Gamers Can (and Wants to) Play Video Games Too' - An interview with Chris aka @DeafGamersTV

I had the pleasure of interviewing Chris Robinson aka DeafGamersTV who is a passionate about video games, regularly streams live on Twitch/Mixer to his audience and is advocating gaming accessibility for deaf/hoh gamers out there.

As Chris is more comfortable communicating via ASL (and I don’t know any ASL), we have decided to do the interview via emails. And it was so much fun to learn more about what goes on behind-the-scene and also learn more about the deaf gaming accessibility world.

Hey Activision! Subtitles on video games should not be a “nice to have”

November 23, 2018 By Ahmed Khalifa

Image for post about Activision's excuse to not provide subtitles for Spyro video game

In episode 7podcast, I talk about the release of the video game Spyro Reignited Trilogy not having subtitles during the cut-scenes.

And there was also a surprising statement by the games developer and publisher on their decisions not to add it.

Read or listen to the story about Spyro video and lack of subtitles
