Helping the hearing world to hear deaf people

Hear Me Out! [CC] is a place where hearing people can learn how to connect and engage with deaf people better, plus work together to bridge the gap between the hearing and deaf worlds.

This website is now archived. If you have an interest in taking over the site (which gets thousands of views per month), please get in touch.

But the site will remain live at my own personal cost so that it can continue to increase deaf awareness and help more people going through their own personal journeys.

Bridging the gap between the hearing and deaf worlds

Hear Me Out! [CC] is a place to celebrate the individual identities by sharing stories about other deaf and my own personal journey.

This site also exists to raise deaf awareness, help educate the hearing world about being more deaf aware, as well as helping those who are deaf to connect with the individual stories.

My Story

“Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.”

– Mark Twain

My own personal journey is a complicated one. Even though I have been deaf/hard of hearing since birth, I still grew up in the mainstream hearing world and barely got involved with the d/Deaf community.

As an “inbetweener”, where I have one foot in the hearing and one foot in the deaf world, it’s not that easy to create an identity for yourself. But it also means that I have a unique position and understanding of both worlds.
